“But where is Shoghi!”- my husband quipped when I told him about Aamod Resort that is located in Shoghi, a hamlet close to tourist hotspot Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. A smooth three hour uphill drive from Kalka took us to this boutique resort. Twenty cottages that offer unobtrusive view of the mountains and acres of forest make up what is christened as Aamod Resort and Spa, Shoghi.
No matter how many times you visit Taj Mahal, its sheer beauty manages to mesmerize you each time. So once again, in the run up to our anniversary, we were on a quick weekend getaway to Agra. Our abode for the weekend was Radisson Agra, located at a stone’s throw from the Taj Mahal. We checked into a Business Suite which was expansive- a living room with attached washroom, bedroom, walk-in-wardrobe and spacious bath with sink-in tub. In the bedroom, a beautiful crib was placed for my five-month old. the hotel has 142 rooms and suites.

Tourists once favorite hangout zone in Delhi, Connought Place lost the steam few years back and sort of became dull. Now with restaurants and pub making a beeline for CP in recent years, it has become food and entertainment epicenter once again. A new gem added to this crown is Niche Lounge and Bistro, young and dynamic Tarun Arora’s brainchild. Arora with his concept restaurant goes beyond the conventional to create just what the name suggests- a niche experience.
As the elevator opens to Taj Vivanta’s North-Indian cuisine (read Punjabi) restaurant Paranda a quintessential highway truck, rustic ambience and smiling servers welcome us. We visited Paranda for a lunch meal during Surajkund Mela, the annual handicraft fair that attracts throngs of people. Vivanta By Taj, which was earlier a Claridges property, is located bang opposite the fair venue. The north-Indian cuisine restaurant has introduced a new menu and before narrating in detail about the food and experience, let me declare new menu to be a winner all the way. Here’s why.
The calm and yet modern baroque interiors of Malt & Co. soothe the nerves and the happy sound of conversation is reassuring. One can watch the beer being made, and drink it too! The attraction, asides from having 'crafted' beer devoid of synthetic preservatives, is also the relaxed environs without too much loud music that doesn't let you hold conversations. Piccadilly has always been the trusted place for kitty gossip or weekend ruminations.

The Amaltas Spa by L’OCCITANE located in the newly launched ANYA Hotel in Gurgaon had a tough job to impress me as I had very high expectations from it. I swear by L’OCCITANE products but whether the spa would be able to replicate that in its spa service too is what I wanted to see. Without building the suspense let me tell you- the spa exceeded my expectations. Back after a long holiday, jet lagged and tanned, my skin needed an anti-tan treatment. The spa manager Suyash Singh promptly suggested the Shea Ultra-Rich Softening Body Wrap followed by a massage of my choice. I prefer medium pressure, besides the fact that I have a thing for spa specialities, so I chose the Amaltas Signature body treatment.
What if a spa offers you a chance to be treated like a King or a Queen for a day? Read on to know about a spa treatment that does exactly that. Tucked in a small town of Kerala, Pallakkad, Kairali Ayurvedic Healing Village offers its signature treatment- The Royal Makeover- that makes you feel like royalty. On my last holiday at Kairali Ayurvedic Healing Village I got a chance to be pampered like a star experiencing Kairali’s Royal Makeover. Here is a blow-by-blow account of it. I was welcomed in a traditional Kerala style in the treatment room with a simple prayer by the two therapists draped in traditional white sarees with golden borders. That moment itself I thought, “This is going to be magical!”. So my Royal Makeover started with Padaprakshalanam or the traditional foot massage. With feet soaked in water with rose petals floating it felt blissful. The therapists meanwhile concentrated on the vital points of worn-out city dwelling feet. Then came my favourite part- the Siro-Abhyangam or the traditional head massage with herbal oils. It’s not only relaxing but also activates the blood circulation. The full body massage here was Abhyangam using Kairali’s medicated oils that opens lymphatic channels and improves blood circulation. The two masseurs performed the comp
