A contemporary design seeking inspiration from the uncut diamond, restaurants that serve memorable meals, comfortable rooms and happy staff all around- that pretty much sums up my thoughts about ITC’s new property in Hyderabad.

Luxury and love both are in details. At ITC Kohenur it was in the ‘sleep box’ that is on the bedside, in showers fitted with Vitamin C capsules in their wellness rooms, in the personalized pillow that has guest’s names nicely embroidered on it and that extra dessert that the chef will feed you no matter which restaurant you are dining at.

The Rooms

I checked into my room- an executive suite that was spacious, offered soothing view of the lake, a four unit bathroom that was plush and all the five star amenities thrown in. Then there were the ITC luxe touches- an iPad with which you could manage room lighting, order in-room dining, book a spa appointment; bathroom that in addition to regular toiletries from Essenza Di Wills stocked lip balm, bath salts and even a facial toner from Forest Essentials and a sleep box on the bedside that had ear plugs, a handy book with tips on good sleeping habits, essential oils to de-stress and also pillow mist. Then there was a lady butler with a disarming smile available to ensure I have a more than comfortable stay.
<img class="aligncenter wp-image-

A hill holiday is the favorite kind of vacation for most urban dwellers. A lavish hotel in the hills ensures that you don’t have to compromise on comfort to indulge in the crisp air of the mountains and that you have a relaxing slow-paced holiday. My recent visit to the Royal Tulip Hotel in Kufri was just the kind of weekend I needed with my family.

Soaking in the sights and sounds of mountain roads, after a three hour drive from Kufri Railway station, we were at our destination- Royal Tulip Kufri which is located at a height of over 8,000 feet. After a quick check-in formality at the reception and a refreshing welcome drink, we came home to our Presidential Suite. A spacious living room, master bedroom, a smaller room with twin beds and one of the most lavish bathrooms I have seen- the suite screamed luxury. Even better we could sit in the balcony stare at the mountains and star studded sky for hours. Its the breathtaking view that was even more luxurious than our room amenities. No wonder we hardly felt the need to venture out of our hotel during our weekend stay there. The decor was minimalist, just how it should be.
<img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1079" src="http://thehotelexplorer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018

The traffic snarls of South Delhi, quietly give way to the roads of its adjacent town Faridabad. It was a long drive to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Faridabad, but the bright lit expansive lobby filled with chatter of hotel guests immediately lit my mood. Hotels indeed make me happy.

I was at the hotel’s Oriental restaurant House of Soy located on the first floor, to sample the Chinese New Year menu that has been curated to celebrate the arrival of the ‘Year of the Dog’, aka the Chinese New Year.

The restaurant was filled with the aroma of the delish buffet spread; the live stations were in action and tables were beautifully laid. We were seated at the restaurant’s Private Dining Room, yes the perks of being a writer.

My royal meal for the night started with the humble man chow soup but gradually gave way to the sumptuous spread of appetizers that included Minced basil Lamb in a crunchy cup, Peking Duck with Pickled Vegetables, Stuffed Chinese crepe with chilli sambal and an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dimsums. Delhi winter is the perfect time for indulgent Sunday Brunches when you can soak in some sun, engage in long conversations over grills and bubbly. If Sunday Brunch is your thing too, read on and if not then although more a reason why you should read this post. Just when the festive cheer was in full swing on a Sunday we reached The Suryaa hotel, which houses two of my favorite restaurants- Ssence and Sampan. The Sunday was in full swing at Ssence, tables laid, some early birds enjoying their appetizers and cheerful noises coming from each corner.
On a Friday evening post work I headed to one of the newest nightclubs in town- The Orb at Radisson Blu New Delhi, Mahipalpur. With some great ladies to chill with, engaging conversations, cocktails and delish finger food, this new avante grade bar proved to be the perfect place for unwinding. It's not tough to find good tipple in this city nor do we have dearth of nightclubs. But ORB is a package- good music, lip smacking food ( that most nightclubs fail to serve), great tipple and impeccable hospitality of a five star.

Spanning over three floors of a plush Delhi hotel and spread over 20,000 square feet of area - R The Spa is a perfect wellness oasis. Located at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport Hotel, the experience at R The Spa has become even more holistic as it has introduced Ayurveda Wellness Programme, in addition to other contemporary European and Asian treatments that it is known for.
Spa visits are all the better if restorative treatments take place in sublime settings with design and beauty given as much consideration as the massages and wellbeing treatments on offer. It becomes a holistic haven with great facilities and specialist therapists ranging from yogis to nutritionists to nurture the body, mind and soul. It is after all the pen-ultimate feel-good holiday, even if it is just that one Sunday.
It's an urban oasis of tranquility. It was my first visit to the Kempinski Hotel in Delhi and I was pleasantly surprised by the expanse, chic decor and design of the hotel. More about that later in a post. The luxury spa at the Kempinski Hotel, Shanaya, which is also open for non-residents- equally evoked awe and surprise.
